Henderson Middle School is highly motivated for success through the active involvement of parents, school, and community.

History
Opened on August, 1996 at the site of the former Henderson High School
Initially had 7th, 8th grades with total population of 1,115.
School opened with 85 faculty members.  Henderson Middle School has had only three principals in its 20 year history.  The first principal was Mrs. Betts McGinnis, the second principal was Terese Allen, and the third principal is Rochelle Patillo (current principal). 
 
Henderson's student population is culturally diverse, representing over 30 countries and at least 50 different languages.

From I-285 and Chamblee-Tucker road:
Head north on Chamblee-Tucker road
Continue approx. 3/4 mile to the intersection with Henderson Mill road
Take a right onto Henderson Mill Road (gas station on right)
Continue on that road for approx. 2-3 miles and the school will be on your right, set back from the road.

From I-85 North:
Exit Chamblee-Tucker Road and make a right.
Proceed down to the bottom of the hill to the intersection with Mercer-University drive.
Make a right and proceed until the road dead-ends into Henderson Mill Road.(approx. 2-3 miles)
Make a right onto Henderson Mill Road. The school will be on your right after a short distance.

The price range of recent home sales range from $60,000 to $450,000.

Research indicates that 60.3% of our students live in single family homes.

Elementary schools that feed into Henderson Middle are Hawthorne, Henderson Mill, Pleasantdale, Evansdale, Oak Grove, Briarlake, Sagamore Hills, and part of Oakcliff.  Our students go to Lakeside High School upon completion of 8th grade.
